when i signed up a few weeks ago i signed up for a ADSL2+account. I was told there was no available ports on the Morley exchange and i was OK with that... i was promised though to be on a 8MBit ADSL connection until a ADSL2+ port became available and it would automatically switch over.

Since i have signed up i have failed to reach speeds higher than 1.2MBit! wtf?

i'm sort of pissed as my parents have a faster connection on their 1.5MBit connection with iinet!

please explain?

Its more than likely not to be amnets fault but more factors limiting your speed,
such as line quality distance from exchange etc

Have you spoken with Amnet support on 1300 88 22 32 to raise a ticket and discuss?

Are you sure they "promised" an 8mbit port, and not a 1.5mbit? The policy could of changed, but pending upgrade connections were 1.5mbit connections at ADSL2+ prices.

That was the point. Lightguard was not sure and PureHell was just clarifying lightguards statement...

Oh, I was pretty sure about what I said. I can't see them offering an 8mbit connection for ADSL2+ prices; the loss they'd be taking would be too damn much.
