When I go into administrative tools and click say "services.msc" or any other .msc shortcuts, the "open with" dialog pops up as system don't know what to open the .msc files with...

Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks

Sure – Just like any other file associate issue.

Browse to C:\Windows\System32

Scroll down to services.msc (or any other .msc for that matter) > Right-Click, Open With... > Click 'Browse', Navigate to – c:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe > Tick 'Always use this program to...' > Press OK.

Otherwise you can do this through the registry instead, though it's a little more involved :)

Thanks for the information it really helped.

As it turned out MMC.exe was missing, so I copied MMC.exe from my other computer to this one and then did what you said and I'm able to disable a few services (tablet drivers) and it works.

Excellent – Strange mmc.exe was missing though.
