Thanks Comcen, For the 5 month's of service! It was sustainable for my use, and I couldn't complain much, I wish all the best for you're existing customers loyal and long term.

Off to another land now.. after I finish my 40minute phone call with Comcen :)

**Note for time saving**

Anyone wishing to cancel there account can do so by replying to the email... They will action it via email as it's quicker. if you are churning to another provider, just let them know in the email and they will stop you're services once they see you're services have been moved over.

Mr.Gomo, That is a lovely little post in the sea of anger and confusion that is the Spin/Comcen subforum.

I wish you all the best with the transfer and hope that I can keep as cool as you when I finally get to sort out moving away from Spin.
Thanks for the tip about the email, now if I can just get them to bloody send me one!

I would advise NOT to simply leave via email and to take the time to do so via phone call as well. WP is replete with horror stories of people loosing money due to submitting cancellation of service notices via email and ISPS time after time saying you have to call and verbally let them know.

Not criticizing Spin/Comcen on this one, its every ISP out there and its been happening since day dot. Do not just leave it to an email. Don't take the chance on getting charged extra fee's and months service because an email was missed.

Follow up an email with a voice call or at the very least. Beats going through the rigmarole of getting chargebacks or going through the TIO or whoever to get money refunded.....or have the ISP wave its T&C around saying 'hey, it says you are supposed to call us 30 days in advance not email'.

Normally I would recommend this too, but when I called today they said they could not process the "free" disconnections over the phone (they could only do the normal 30 day in advance disconnects).

They said that if I wanted the "free out" I could only do so by replying to the email.

Also, as they are the ones who are technically breaking the contract their 30 day rule should not apply.

They've never taken disconnections over the phone.

You have to put it in writing (aka email).

Yes stevo I was a reseller, however yet to even have any clients, bit of a pitty would of been a very easy cash flow solution to myself :)

Ah well things happen! never the less Happy to report that I've been speaking with James M who's been nothing but helpful in finding out how my cancellation was going,

He said everyone would be sorted out at the end of my billing cycle :) and if not he would indevour to fix the issue! so there wouldn't be any of this.. " Comcen Charged me! While I was gone111!! " threads popping up etc.. :)

Great guys ! Glad this didn't turn into some huge disaster ISP :)

Yeah yeah! :) Well I wasn't one for much problems speed related, most my P2P programs ran at full speed, however on the other hand youtube never loaded faster then 3kb/sec. so I just stopped using the site ;)

I gave up easy! but now the new ISP is fab! 30ms pings to pipenetworks fast overall web browsing and the speed and price! shesh better then what I had before! :) with a service worth using as well!

The reason I wasn't complaining as much back when I first swapped over was because I used to work in an office mon – fri doing pretty much nothing.. so while in the office I had nothing but fast speed ;) now I'm out of the office and onto the work force again heh, I lasted 6 month's in my office job.. never again! Seriously..

That reminds me good times good times..

Hi Guys,

As you are all aware your Internet usage incl what sites you are visiting are monitored and reported on and ***** made aware of what individuals usage is. Tech services have advised me that some people are spending a lot of time on the Internet and on sites that are downloading sites. You are not to download anything through our network unless it is something that the boys from tech have overseen. We were going to have our team meeting today but with ***** away we will now have it next Tuesday. One of the issues I was going to discuss in the meeting was internet usage and also the use of "personal gadgets". None of you are to have any of your own laptops, cameras or any other gadgets you have brought in out on your desk or anywhere else unless you are on your break time. This is effective immediately and as I will be in and out of the office over the next 2 weeks I have asked **** to ensure you are all doing the work you should be and that daily tasks and assigned tasks are completed. **** will be reporting back to me as to whether this is all done.

</End Random/>
