No, uploads are not counted towards your limit.

Hello,

Once you have reached your download quota both your download and upload speeds are shaped to 64Kbps. Uploads are not counted towards your quota limit.

What I would recommended for anyone being shaped. Turn off all your automated updating programs. It helps you max your 64Kbps. Some programs that automatically update may include your anti virus, windows, and may other programs.

Btw is it me or Amnet webpage takes forever to load once your shaped?

Drop your MTU to 560. Seriously. It'll help with the packet loss.

why cant the shaping increase to 100Kbps ? since most if not all of us have a 5Mbt connection now.

No reason. I basically picked a random number > 500.

The reason why shaping speeds haven't increased yet, is that you can still do some major quota damage on anything higher. There's also no real pressure to do so, as I'd bet the majority of people don't actually get shaped at all.

I'm still on an old adsl1 plan, this finally gives me good reason to upgrade.

nothing is indefinite with ISPs, hence the plan changes, peak/offpeak time and quota changes etc etc. but for now, the offpeak saturday is staying which gives us effectively 31 hours of offpeak (24hr sat + 7 offpeak hours of sunday) in one go.

So does this "all day saturday" still counts towards off-peak now?
Im wondering to switch to amnet if this is true :)

Just one more thing...
Does this "all day Saturday" off-peak stay forever or only for a limited time only?

Thanks,

Damn it. Saturday off peak will mean that my VOIP will not work cos I am shaped on the 'offpeak' allowance. I still have 1gb on the 'peak' allowance... Should have known it earlier!

I think Saturdays should be peak+ off peak, with off peak allowance being preferentially being used first...

Do you want the system to break? Because if they implement something that complex, that's what'd happen.

Nah, its all good now, VOIP still works – just slightly dodgier (?) quality
