Jocelyn, When PennyTel next look at their plans to offer, or think of offering "Whirlpool Plans", perhaps some Australian mobile calls could be included in a lower volume plan like the "Freedom" plan , or users could buy a block of mobile calls to add. Probably most relatively lower volume users make some mobile calls but might not necessarily be able to justify the "Crazy Talk" plan, so maybe something in between would be popular. Cheers, John |

Dear Jocelyn, Thanks for the continued development of Pennytel :) My 2c worth is automated ANI callback, ie Currently you: 1) Ring the ANI number Proposed: 1) Ring ANI number WITH speed-dial number or other number added, ie 0282073301#1 for speed-dial 1 or 0282073301#029043xxxx for a Sydney number. Even better would be 1) and 2) combined, ie ring the ANI with the appended number, get engaged signal, it then automatically changes to "your call is being connected". |

ANI being able to recognise overseas caller IDs As has been suggested previously, callback via SMS might be the way to go as caller ID sometimes gets lost along the way, as you have rightly pointed out. |

When an account has multiple DID's PennyTel should send the call based on each DID reather the the master DID. That would allow thoes who can route calls on DID number. Currently to accomplish this one is required to create multiple accounts. |

PennyTel could try offering a reliable service and support that answers the phone, or even responds to emails within 24 hours. Yesterday's support email was ignored, so today's is a little terse. Please understand my frustration, I've been trying to get a usable service for weeks and have eliminated all possible problems at my end. PennyTel just don't seem interested. Hello, As per the subject, my number is not reachable. This is completely unacceptable and requires urgent action to rectify. When I make outgoing calls, there are still frequent dropouts with the person on the other end unable to hear me. Frequently when I try to call out, the service is unavailable. Basically, someone at PennyTell needs to pull their finger out and offer the service you claim to. |

Basically, someone at PennyTell needs to pull their finger out and offer the service you claim to Coyote I, and many other PT users can vouch for the reliability of their service. I have been using PT exclusively now for approx 2 years, at various times they have had a few hicups but recently no problems either national or OS. Call drop outs are likely settings/line. You ask for 24hr immediate response. Do you get this from a PTSN provider? At what cost would you like this service? Be realistic, PT do provide a very good, reliable srvice at the lowest cost available in Australia. Perhaps there are others out there that do better, all are more expensive, why did you choose PT? You state you have eliminated ALL possible problems at your end, have you tried an alternative provider? Also this thread is about wish list, yours is obviously not. Perhaps try posting a specific thread giving ALL relevant details such as line stats, leave this thread for what it was intended, positive feed back. |

UK and USA DIDs would be good, but actually localised to various cities – eg. London, Plymouth, I'll second this one. Localised DIDs in the UK would be great. Currently I have a UK VoIP provider who I end up using for all my UK calls and have hooked onto my ATA. PennyTel is cheaper to make UK calls than my UK provider but it is simpler to just use my UK one as it has the DID attached. I would love to drop my UK VoIP provider and just use pennytel! |

Not sure if this has been suggested, but SMS-Callback service?? Basically send an SMS to your Pennytel gateway, with username:pass,num1,num2. It will appeal to those that travel alot and purchase brand new prepaid SIMs and do not immediately have access to PCs to verify the new number. Also overseas numbers doesn't send thru caller-id for ani-callback to the 4 countries numbers? (im assuming thats how it works for the callback services to recognize ani numbers) Suggestions welcome :) |

Real men use Fidonet writes... Perhaps I've misunderstood you, but it sounds like what you are describing – a phone number with a suffix, is a technical impossibility. I think what was being proposed was this:
This means you can use ANI callback without having to manually key in the phone number each time for frequently dialled numbers, and I think it would help dramatically – I know I would use it more in this circumstance! |

I am very happy with all the current offerings from PennyTel. Thank you! I have put many friends on to PennyTel, and logging into their accounts to check or adjust them, is not as easy as it could be. Getting into my own account is great, with it remembering my username and password, but getting into a friends a/c could be simpler. MNF have a really simple URL which makes logging in a breeze. Thank you for asking for ideas! This is a sign of a great attitude! Would it be possible to keep chosen web page views as the default? For instance: When I view my Statement, I always have to change it to show a different number of days, and a different number of transactions. Could we have it remember those settings, so next time, the page loads as it was previously? Perhaps an option to "Save these Settings?" Same request for the Address Book please? |

After reading in another thread someone feeling ripped off after a 20 second mobile call for 38.88. Perhaps have a capped plan the same as TTYD but timed until the amount reaches 38.88 cents. I did suggest a plan like this in a poll awhile ago. Many didn't like it fearing pennytel were going to lose out. Fair enough but let's let pennytel's money men work that one out. |

I would love to be able to select a CID number per call. We're able to do this with another VoIP provider that we use, using Asterisk it's as simple as setting the callerid(num) to what we want it to be. It's the only feature holding me back from using Pennytel as our only carrier. |

I've heard about it in another PT thread, i would use this a lot if it was easy to implement on a standard mobile phone. This means you can use ANI callback without having to manually key in the phone number each time for frequently dialled numbers, Good idea, but pressing 1,[speed-dial number] only takes me half a second. After reading in another thread someone feeling ripped off after a 20 second mobile call for 38.88. Isn't there a prefix you can attach to the number to 'force' a timed call? Getting into my own account is great, with it remembering my username and password, but getting into a friends a/c could be simpler. Use Firefox browser and after the first time you log in, it can remember each account and password, so all you need to do is click in the account box and select the appropriate account, then click login. Not sure how much simpler it could be. - I'd like to add +1 for the remembered page settings, so much easier if the statement page had a default setting (though I must admit it no where near as bad since the refresh has been improved, but still.) and a new suggestion, I'd like the wallet to store more than 1 card detail. 1 example of a benefit of this, if I wished to make one off payments from a separate card, this could just be selected from the verified cards. |

I'm a Pennytel user and occassionally I come across guys like you talking about all kinds of crazy features and I have no idea what they are, what they do, how they would benefit me, how to learn more about them, how to implement them. I downloaded the latest IPHONE app for PT, but noted that a few improvments would be good (or maybe i'm mising something!); 1/. After making a call, the number on the keypad has to be manually backed over a deleted/removed – very annoying. 2/. I can't get two IPHONES to work on the same account number. My wife and I both have IPHONE's but i want to use one account. 3/. Why can't this work over a 3G data connection? A data connection is a data connection, so i'm not sure why it will only work with a wifi connection. Maybe some of these have an answer already – i'm new to PT but like it so far... PhantomMan... |

Internode gets a lot of business from Whirlpool and its staff (from Managing Director down) are very active in the forums. See:
When referring people to PennyTel the most common type of question I get, is who are they and can I trust them and trust them with my credit card and so on. Potential customers can therefore ask in Whirlpool and be reassured. EDIT: Typo |

Would it be possible to have Untimed Serbia/Montenegro mobile calls? I am very happy with your move to include untimed landline calls to Serbia & Montenegro for 38.88 cents in last year's wishlist that I had requested. You've saved me a lot of money! Thank you very much for introducing it. A lot of my family don't have a landline, it would be great if untimed calls to Serbian & Montenegran Mobiles could be introduced. I would be REALLY grateful. A lot of my family don't have a landline, it would be great if untimed calls to Serbian & Montenegran Mobiles could be introduced. Yes, a lot of the people in Balkan countries have disconnected their fixed lines — like a lot of my friends in Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia. The problem with providing untimed calls to mobiles in these and other locations is that the mobile operators charge too much to interconnect to them. The same can be said for fixed line operators in these parts — which is why the untimed calls are 38.88¢ rather than 8¢. Having said that, I'd also like to see mobiles included, but the chances of it happening are slim, I reckon. |

For me I think the following areas would improve Pennytel (in Order of Priority) 1) Fix Outbound CLI – This is an exisiting service and needs to work correctly 99.9% of the time not be hit and miss. 2) The ability to combine multiple accounts. Although not difficult to administer i is a pain not being able to look at multiple accounts at once. 3) The ability to send outbound CID through Trixbox/Asterisk. I know currently you can select whatever number to send out through the control panel but with Nehos I can make different extensions show different phone numbers. It's great in an office with many work teams 4) More regional DID's (this seams to have huge potential for growth for Pennytel) I can't believe Alice Springs doesn't have any. 5) Better customer support. I put this last because most of the time we don't need it. Most of the info we need is in Forums around the net. I am happy for them to be cheap and save on a customer support team sitting around answer dumb questions. However, it is pretty poor! |

I would like to suggest a change to the on-line statements. I would like to filter the view to identify how many Mobile calls have been made throughout my billing period. I am currently on the Crazy Talk plan and have 150 free (or 500mins) calls to mobiles (then 12.5c per min) and I have no way to identify exactly how many are remaining until I go over my free limit. Thanks for taking an interest. |

A call cost calculator would also be great. When I used NodePhone, I could enter the number I wanted to call on their website prior to making the call. Being in the UK, calls to 08xx numbers aren't charged at the 8c, and are timed, so being able to have an idea of the cost of the call before I make it would be helpful. |

Being in the UK .... Makes no difference to what you're charged. calls to 08xx numbers aren't charged at the 8c, and are timed Australian 08 numbers, or UK 08 numbers? EDIT: If you meant Australian 08 numbers, then you're simply on the wrong plan. If you meant UK 08 numbers, then at $1/min, why are you using PennyTel to call them? |

A feature I would like is to have 2 or more multiple lines without the need to active auto top-up, just a minimum credit balance that can be checked before calls are allowed. The more lines, the more minimum credit balance would be required. With the ability of the account holder to configure the number of multiple lines required online. Most of the time one line is enough, but there are occasions where two (or more) are required. This would save the need for multiple accounts and best of all no requirement for a credit card. I prefer to pay by BPay and not leave Credit Card details on someone’s website to use or abuse. Taking it is easy, but when it is taken incorrectly, no one is really interested in giving it back in a simple no questions asked way. |

How about making Untimed calls to Pakistan (incl mobiles) permanent, as it used to be but then u guyz suddenly stopped it. I am very happy with the service and have no issues buying another ATA as ur local and national plan is pretty awesome value for money. |

My first Suggestion would be to look at the wish lists from 2007 and 2008. Pennytel promised to provide feedback on those. My desire would still be to have: SIPBROKER PEERING Mr Hankey. |

Australian 08 numbers, or UK 08 numbers? UK 08 numbers. I'm using PennyTel as I don't have a landline yet. |

UK 08 numbers. I'm using PennyTel as I don't have a landline yet. Hmmm. I was stuck for $16 by PT for a 16 minute call to a UK 0800 (i.e. free) number the other night. PT lumps them together with the premium 0844, 0845 and 0870 numbers, and publishes the rate under "United Kingdom Number Translation Service". Now, PT will probably claim that the rate is published for all to see. However, I think that most people a) will not associate a free 0800 number with "Number Translation Service", until they have been bitten by this, and b) would not imagine that someone is about to charge them $1/min for calling a free number, and therefore wouldn't look it up anyway. For comparison, VoipDiscount charges nothing for 0800, 7.6c/min for 0844 and 0845, and 19.1c/min for 0870 – so I've now dusted off my VoipDiscount account for these UK number ranges. So, my wishes are that PT would: Not expecting much action on a), b) and c) though. |

by the way can I call New Zealand untimed on the Free Access Untimed plan No. If you call NZ on that plan you pay 2.5 cents per minute to a landline. More for a mobile phone number. You get 8 cent calls to NZ if you are on freedom plan and TTYD plan. Regards, H. |

A fax-in service. Subscribe to a DID ($5 per annum – min 3 years) that will receive faxes and email them to a nominated email address, preferably as a pdf file. H. EDIT I currently have a fax-in service from my ISP for $1 per month. But, my ISPs DIDs are only located in capital cities. (Whereas PT have DIDs in a much larger number of locations). |

Firstly I would like to note Pennytel provide an outstanding list of features given the very reasonable prices. The very reasonable prices is why I use Pennytel. If this changes I will change. Wingbits wishlist: 1-Allow multiple registered ATA’s and when receiving a call, all registered ATA’s ring until the first is picked up 2-I would like to be able to use my pennytel account like a calling card. 3-Monthly invoice notification to contain either invoice.pdf or a link directly to the Pdf with out having to lo in to the account to get the invoice. ( I have switched my non PC literate friends from Engin to Pennytel- Engin email out the invoice). 5- Bring back the option of 779 timed calls otherwise every second account holder will have two accounts. Two invoices is annoying. 6-I think it would be reasonable to round up to the nearest cent |

I would like to be able to use my pennytel account like a calling card. Good idea, but I think a password would also be needed. The password would have to be in the form of a PIN. The pin could be derived from a keypad form of the account password, eg. the password "fido1998" would be keyed in as 34361998. I would like to say how happy I am with Pennytel and all its features, particularly its pricing structure. If I have a wish to add to the 2009 wishlist (and the 2010, 2011 etc lists), it would be for Pennytel management to remember why they are becoming more and more popular as a VSP – above all the features, the pricing is the reason. As Pennytel gains more and more clients, ecomomies of scale should kick in, as they are able to buy even bigger blocks of time and service and do deals in some of the more difficult counties like Japan. I am not suggesting that PT should pass on savings which good management, higher volume and depreciating infrastructure should produce, just keep to the current pricing scheme and the clients will just keep on coming. I'm optimistic they will, based on the performance so far. |

Allow multiple registered ATA’s and when receiving a call, all registered ATA’s ring until the first is picked up Me too. I'd like this. I would like to be able to use my pennytel account like a calling card. i.e 1300xxxxxxx > <enter pennytel acc no> <enter destination number> call charged to pennytel account. Would be great! Monthly invoice notification to contain either invoice.pdf or a link directly to the Pdf with out having to lo in to the account to get the invoice. I prefer it how it is as we can download the PDF via a HTTPS connection. I wouldn't like to see a PDF in an email as email is not secure (unless specifically protected). Bring back the option of 779 timed calls otherwise every second account holder will have two accounts. Two invoices is annoying. Yes, I've had to open up a second account for this exact reason. Most annoying. I think it would be reasonable to round up to the nearest cent i.e a call costing $0.17675 would be charged at $0.18 No, because then they'd be like any other rip-off phone company. I've previously suggested that they display anything beyond a cent in a lighter shade of grey in the calls list and invoices. This would make the charge easier to discern without affecting the actual billing. |

Before asking for any new feature, please honor or make them available on some of the existing feature advertised on your web site first. Like "For as low as AUD5.00 a year, you can have a traditional phone number in Australia, Singapore*, Hong Kong*, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and enjoy ", where are the DID other than Australia, we have been waiting them for years. |

1 for multiple ANI numbers preset to speed-dial entries. I have been playing with the speed dial facility at Voxalot. It allows unlimited entries, well 999999999 to be precise and an entry starts with a ** followed by a number terminated with a #. Now if we could combine our accounts into one login with the speed dials then we could create a speed dial which points to a different account (just like voxalot!!) depending on the call type. Now because we will now have dozens if not hundreds of speed dial entries (eg. **5646 to ring john) we will also need the export/import feature.
