Hi cortie, Every so often I look around the market at other ISP's deals, not because there is anything wrong with my service, but just to look for a better deal – yet time and time again, I have not found a better suited plan. Over the 6 years I have been with them I have hardly ever had to use support as they have always been reliable. But in regard to there support I must say the current queue waiting times were very low, a matter of a few minutes – I had to phone support today, I was enquiring to relocate my connection. I cannot comment on there ADSL 2+ for a few weeks or so until I upgrade from ADSL1, nor cannot comment on the bundled service. I highly recommend Netspace. J |

I am shopping for a new bundled internet service for around $80-$90 per month, what’s Netspace like. I was looking at their ADSL2+ 40 (Bundled) for $80. I'm a pretty happy long term customer too. It's not perfect but I doubt any of them are. They have their glitches, like two nights ago my internet was out for 8 hours. On average I would say every 1-3 months there might be a service outage, but it's usually only a few hours. The worst I ever had was 2weeks!! Apparently this was just me and something at an exchange blew up and they had to rely on their upstream provider to verify and fix it. But in general I think pretty good. Pretty good service, price and speed etc. Btw, I have recently upgraded to the ADSL2+ 40 (Bundled) for $80 after being on the 512/126 plans for a long time. I am in Brisbane, and I get download speeds up to ~600kb/s, and upload of ~100kb/s but it all depends on who you are connecting with etc. As for the transition, I had some big headaches here. They really screwed me around for a while. It was a more complicated situation because I was moving house, upgrading my plan and for the first time using them as a phone provider to get a bundle. Anyways, it all took longer than they told me, apparently because they have to rely on their upstream provider here (Optus) to do some services, and apparently they were backlogged. I found out because I was constantly chasing them up to get status reports as the weeks ticked by (and felt it should have been the other way around). To top it off, when it was finally set to go they didn't send me the ADSL2 modem until the very last day and it was not the one I ordered – a 4port instead of the stand single port. I was pissed and told them I would be using it while I waited for the proper one to arrive, which they said they would have to investigate (apparently my records of having ordered it couldn't be found despite my numerous conversations with them during this time) while the prospect remained of me paying for this modem too. I didn't have to but they had the gall to ask me to pay postage to return it! I really got stuck into them now over this small charge on principle and in a few days all was fixed up. Yes, it was a drama, and I was smoking mad at the time but the service since has been good and in the bigger picture I am pretty happy with them (even more so since the other day the allowance for this plan doubled to the 40GB it is now). I guess shit happens, and it's only my story and no indication that you won't get a smooth transition. Check your private messages please. |

I have also been looking at the new TPG connection they unvailed yesterday. Yeah I have had a look at those plans, only made the news on WP yesterday, but those plans were released before then as I am aware and there should already be quite a lot of discussion for you to look at. They are appealing but TPG and aaNet are limited in the exchanges they have enabled. Good luck |

With the Telstra Homeline Budget works out very cheap As far as I know, Telstra do NOT allow you to have Homeline Budget with ADSL2!!! So be ware if yo are factoring that into the deal. |

I called telstra last night and asked about this. He told me I could connect to other providers no problem with this plan. He also asked someone else there, and they said the same. |

Sounds like a good deal you're onto, hope it all works out. Good to know about TGP's deals. I must admit I tend to just tick along with NS, and should compare more often. On purely cost/usage allowance it looks like TGP has their nose in front, probably not enough to make me want to jump ship, but you never know what the future holds. Let us know how you go. |

I recently switched back to Netspace after being away from them for 3 years (went to AAPT because I moved and they were offering free connections..) Since coming back I had a silly problem (changed password with capslock inadvertently on and couldn't relogin after that.. duh!).. couldn't contact customer support as it was after 8pm Fri and spent the night w/o broadband. I called up on Sat and tech support was very helpful. Must have spent 20 mins with me, trying different combinations of passwords etc. Finally we figured out the right one and left it at that. 1st class support. |

Note that I am only referring to ADSL2, not ADSL1... It's actually stated here on the Telstra website that you cannot have broadband from providers using "line sharing", which means ALL ADSL2 providers: http://www.telstra.com.au/hom Things you need to know HomeLine Budget customers agree not to acquire services from other carriage service providers by dialing their access override code and must not acquire a broadband service from another service provider which is provided using line sharing technology. |

Just order the homeline budget and if they ask about the net just say you're not interested. Then go and connect to what adsl2+ provider you want but just don't mention it to Telstra. Your service won't be cut off because they can't do that. Plenty of ppl are doing this so you won't have any issues. |

I like the deal I have, but that's literally all I like. I actually wish I was back with my old ISP on a slower connection so I wouldn't have these problems that I have currently. I've been in circles with my prob and decided to give up. Soon I'll be shopping for another ISP, cable or fibre optics, whenever that arrives!! Many people have my same problem, which is: disconnections. Enjoy the read ;-) |

I have also been looking at the new TPG connection they unvailed yesterday. Hi Cortie Im with TPG at the moment and thier plans may look nice but they have alot of disconnection issues as well as proxy problems causing pages to load very slowly or not at all. Look through the TPG forums before making your desicion. Im currently looking at leaving due to the amount of problems im having. |
