We start our adventure about 3-4 weeks ago when I decided to get rid my of my dodo account and go for something better, the big kahuna package. After the sales guy telling me it would only take 1 week for me to have my adsl2+ up and running and that it would all be switched overnight blah blah blah, I decided to just go for it. A week and 2 days later I decide to ring up and see how my order is going as I haven't received any word about it. They told me the phone was connected and it would be apporximately seven days from now that my adsl2+ would take to be connected. Skip ahead 16 days later when I am still on my dodo package and still no work from iprimus...I call them again and they said I had a letter coming my way and that was more than likely my welcome note with my username and password, it was a welcome not but it didn't contain my username and password, instead it came with a $35 for my phone. So I finally get connected today, the 4 week mark and what are my thoughts so far? Well I made two phone calls to tech support this morning both around 12 minute calls each finally start surfing and I'm enjoying some beautiful speeds....not really...My first download went at 74kb/s but now that I'm doing speedtests and trying to figure out what my rough speed is it's more like 46kb/s, the internet has completely dropped out a few times too. I went onto the live chat thing and after about a 5 minute wait on there all I was told to do is call tech support. But it being 8:35 in the morning and not wanting to be stuck on hold for another prolonged period of time I think I'll just rant with you guys on here. |

You're probably not on ADSL2+ yet. Check your modem first of all to see what you're syncing at. |

You could be on a 1500 profile, or less, we would need to check for you. |

I finally got up and running on Friday night after 3 weeks waiting. I have exactly the same issue (running off the Campbelltown NSW exchange). Internet dropouts. Pages just halt and stop loading. When I'm running uTorrent it is impossible to browse the net at the same time. My fastest download speed so far has been 120kbs. This is supposed to be ADSL2+ (Big Kahuna). My line has been serviced by a Telstra Tech a couple of days before i made the connection. Im using an Open Networks 625W. The connection has been live for a little over 3 days. I've been on the phone with support 3 times. I'm waiting for 2nd level tech to call. And im seriously contimplating cancelling already. Any help would be appreciated. I'd rather not cancel but if things continue I wont have a choice. My Vodafone Mobile Braodband is crappy but better than the Primus connection i currently have. |
