Been with Westnet a long time. Have been having some issues getting mailbox quota emails when my mailbox isn't full. Sent Westnet support a message almost 18 hours ago, because I can't afford to miss emails at the moment. But haven't heard anything back. It's so unusual to not receive a prompt reply from Westnet letting me know whats going on. |

Been with Westnet a long time. Have been having some issues getting mailbox quota emails when my mailbox isn't full. Hi Lockian Goto http://webmail.westnet.com.au and login from there with your Email Address and password. – Check your deleted items, sent items etc and delete everything you can. The mailbox size it refers to is actually the size of the mailbox on the Westnet servers, meaning, not through your email program (ie. Outlook Express or Thunderbird). If your mailbox (through webmail) is in fact empty, give the support line a call on 1300 768 068 |

Well, at the time of getting the emails I was sitting on around 0.44mb usage. I've since cleared the mailbox out completely as you've suggested, and I'll probably have to ring through support. |

Hi lockian Well, at the time of getting the emails I was sitting on around 0.44mb usage. I've since cleared the mailbox out completely as you've suggested, and I'll probably have to ring through support. Is it possible that you have more than one email address with Westnet? If so, the email notice you received could be referring to one of your free additional email addresses. The notices that are sent out are sent to the listed correspondence email address on your account – if this address is your main Westnet email address, then you may receive a notice here about a different mailbox being over its limit. Another step you could take (if you haven't already) is to go through each of the folders in your mailbox (through our webmail system) to see if any emails are still stored here. If these folders contain any emails (this includes the Sent and Deleted Items folders), then these emails will still count towards your email quota. At this stage, if you have tried the step above, I would recommend contacting our Support team again on 1300 786 068 as others have mentioned, as they will be able to see which email address (if any) is oversize. You can also email support@westnet.com.au if you prefer, or you may request a call from our Support team via this page: |

...because I can't afford to miss emails at the moment. Mail won't be bounced if you exceed the quota – it's pretty much just a 'soft cap' that warns you ;) |

Hi Lockian, More info. on how to clear the mail boxes you look after can be found on MyHelp. As Brent suggested earlier, if you are still having troubles feel free to call or email support again and they will get back to you as soon as possible. Matt |

A good way to avoid this in the future is to have outlook delete messages from the server once you have received them on your computer - Click "Tools" The downside in doing this is you wont be able to see the emails in webmail, so your emails will only be kept on your home computer. I believe outlook is setup like this by default, but i may be wrong. |

I believe outlook is setup like this by default, but i may be wrong. Outlook, by default, doesn't leave a copy of messages on server. You have to manually tick that box if you want it to keep messages on the server. |

Thanks everyone for the advise. Feel a bit silly now. It appears I had an email account linked to my internet account that I wasn't aware of, filling up with spam. I've gotten rid of it now and all is good. Thanks again. |

Mail won't be bounced if you exceed the quota – it's pretty much just a 'soft cap' that warns you ;) If you are still on the old mail system, yes. On the new one, its a hard limit. |
