Hi there,
Around 22 August I called iiNet and placed an order for Naked DSL Home 4, there were some issues with verifying my credit card details so I read the FAQ on the site and called and changed to direct debit – I gave my bank details.
Last Thursday (28 August) I receive an email from Provisioning saying that my order has been placed, quoting 10-20 days. Yesterday (3 September) I receive the exact same email from Provisioning again, quoting 10-20 days.
Please can someone kindly check my order and let me know the status.
Also I received a user ID but no password for my email or toolbox. I've called the support number a couple of times but so far no-one is able to help. Please can you advise me how I can receive these details.
Thanks, Stewart

Sometimes I wonder why anyone rings iiNet when they get such swift service on Whirlpool.

Maybe most of the support crew spend their work hours surfing the net?

Perhaps because their internet isn't working?

So they use their phone to use Whirlpool now? How does that work? It reads back a line at a time? And last I checked you don't need the internet to call someone..

The pre edit was way funnier. Would have them all wondering if it was them or the other person.

I have never seen the drama of asking reps for help here.
Can someone please explain?

Reps aren't paid to post on WP (at least they never used to get paid to do so). If they are spending their time during the days posting on WP I would have to ask (Network Ops) if all faults lodged have been tended too, (Provisioning) if their tasks are all actioned and (reps) if they are sitting in idle time.
For every extra query someone grabs from here especially a stupidly simple one like this thread (the OP could have made a single call to iiNet to get the same information) it's pushing someone's Naked DSL fault a bit longer behind, or an outage not being tended too for a bit longer.
It's not such a big deal now as it's not necessarily mainstream but the more that reps jump on people's questions (two staff members responded to the OP within minutes offering assistance) the more of a precedent that will be set. In 6 months time we will have every second thread requesting a call whilst airing their dirty laundry.
That's my prediction anyway

doubt it, from what i understand there is actually a team simi dedicated to helping people on here, and would assume they would try and take the matter out of the forums, and resolve it internally. seems only logical to me. plus if reps never responded to threads on whingepool, people would get rather raged.

Hmmm... time to check the iiNet job vacancies.
imo it sets a potentially dangerous standard as people expect to get helped via Whirlpool... but as long as iiNet don't change there mind back to the old policies then it won't be a problem I guess.
I'm just waiting to see the complaint threads.. "I made a thread and no iiNet reps replied! is anyone even alive!"... "I reported my phone out on whirlpool 7 days ago and it still hasn't been fixed"...

Re: Spacehead:-
Right I object to your comments completely.
"For every extra query someone grabs from here especially a stupidly simple one like this thread (the OP could have made a single call to iiNet to get the same information) it's pushing someone's Naked DSL fault a bit longer behind, or an outage not being tended too for a bit longer."
To start, I have called iiNet at least 5 times to try to get this sorted out. I have been waiting for two weeks and have no updates either. I saw that iiNet Reps are on here and that they are OFFERING to help people, so I did the obvious. You're right, they are not paid to do so, but if they kindly offer to help I will accept. What they do in their spare time is their business, how do you know they are working when answering a thread, are you flaming psychic?
Keep your backbiting smarmy comments to yourself and write a thread yourself instead of moaning about other people's!
Don't bother replying as I will be on the phone to iiNet for the 6th time and won't have time to reply.

Good, obviously the whims didn't help if you are back on the phone to them.

Heres hopeing..
OP: in the face of a pretty comprehensive explanation of why people should not "expect" ISP support on a web forum why would you bite back?. If you have an issue with iiNet's level of phone support by all means you could send an email, or lodge a complaint.
Good luck in your quest for happiness.
