In order to give you the right details, what is it that you need assistance with?

The response times for Sales and Accounts are very low at the moment – you can email then at or and you will get a response within a few hours at most.

We do have telephones, but we prefer contact via email, where possible, unless your inquiry is about a fault with your service.

We respond to our emails very quickly, usually within a matter of hours.

We do this to ensure we can respond to inquiries quickly, and still offer very low prices. Some more information is on the aaNet-whirlpool FAQ

from

and

bundled prices
8000-M3 – $94.90,

phone $29.90

so $124.80 per month for 12 month (contract) plus calls plus excess data.

Try the sums on this mate:

Get the plan you want unbundled
get the cheapest telstra plan
use skype for all of your calls (2.7c/minute)

I have had telstra on the phone trying to save me money and they said at the end of 20 mins...I don't think we can save you any money sir :)

Hope this helps,

KJ

Churning:there is no installation fee only a churn fee.
Churn=transfer your existing connection to another ISP.

If you're with aapt ADSL1, and you want to move to aanet, you can churn.

As misi says there is a smaller churn fee rather than a full installation.

You are in Telstra's house,AAPT is providing you with food.
You are paying for AAPT for the food and rent as well.
AAPT is paying the full fee to Telstra.

Moving to aaNet: You are going to pay the full fee to aaNet and aaNet is going to pay it to Telstra.
:-)

I have a friend who has NO internet connection so can't email aanet to ask questions about plans.

I can't find a phone number on the website... there used to be a list of them for each capital city. We're in Queensland so any help would be appreciated.

Or has aanet done away with all phone support?

You do. What questions do they have?

I can't find a phone number on the website.

It is still there, though because they prefer non-phone enquiries it is a little tricky to find.

Ask away. If you are helping them to sign up it may be worth your while to give them your referrer code so you receive a discount on your connection....

Not that tricky, from the aaNet homepage, "Contacting aaNet" -> "Technical Problem"

Tricky for someone that doesn't have a technical problem. ;)

Hi influx69,
Basically what it will cost for you to transfer from AAPT to Aanet is -

Transfer fee –
$79 (one off fee)

Kickstart plan –
$65 per month (if bundled with phone)
$75 per month (if unbundled)

Line rental –
$29.90 per month (if bundled with internet)

So you would be up for either $95 per month with both phone & internet.
or
$75 a month with just internet, but you would need to have your phone line with another provider, for example – Telstra Budget for $20.00.

I transferred over from AAPT 2 months ago for both ADSL and Phone. I took the phone with Aanet as well, mainly for the convenience of one bill but also because the $10 saving for bundling matches the difference I would have been paying for the line rental with Telstra Budget.
I also dont make many calls on the land line due to having a Voip account with Mynetfone.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
thomo
