As usual these speedtests continue to vary significantly, though things appear normal from my own connection in Perth (South Metro) Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test Mirror: Westnet Your line speed is 6.19 Mbps (6189 kbps). Were you shaped at the end of last month? If after powercycling your ADSL modem the problem still persists please contact Support to investigate your particular issue further. Regards, Chris |

No we weren't shaped at all last month (for a change!) it seems to be ok for now. I'm in WA, Perth if that helps. |

Is it just me or has Westnet been slow for a couple days? It was extremley slow Monday morning and slow at the moment. I am not shaped either. I suggest if you get that again, turn your modem & pc off for a good 30 minutes which should give you a new IP address and most likely fix your speed issue. |

The new IP address will have no bearing on speed whatsoever. It was late when I wrote that. I meant to say that turning your modem off for 30 minutes should fix the issue, and you will probably get a new IP address. However, I have seen for myself that sometimes changing an IP address does fix speed issues, amongst other things that I can't be bothered going into right now. |

This has also been a problem for me the last couple of days. Getting the same speed as you have posted on a 512k connection. What exchange are you on? I'm on Tuart Hill exchange. |

Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test Mirror: Westnet Your line speed is 240 kbps (0.24 Mbps). Have called tech support and got nothing other than... "try unplugging your phone filters", "reset your modem", "have you run a virus scan".... |

I'm on Tuart Hill exchange Spector-I'm from Beechboro. It's been slow off and on for awhile. I have also called Westnet and they said the same thing. My modem is practically brand new so there's nothing wrong with it. My speed test results: Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test Mirror: Westnet Your line speed is 314 kbps (0.31 Mbps). |

I am getting close to full speed from 3fl??? Interesting, the Westnet speedtest mirror and 3fl are hosted in the same location. Do you experience a variation in speed between WAIX and other domestic sources? C:\>tracert mirror.3fl.net.au Tracing route to mirror.3fl.net.au [203.21.20.200] 1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms 172.16.1.1 Trace complete. Strangely enough I am downloading a pre-ordered game through an application called Impluse this morning and I'm getting close to full speed – it's sitting at 48kb/s constant. All other Australian sources I have tried are giving slow speeds. Trace route is the same for me as what you have posted... :S? |

Hi Guys, This is possibly related to a recently uncovered issue specific to ADSL1 services in WA: /forum-replies.cfm?t=1032673&p=2#r25 Thanks. |
