As my plan with 3 just expired, I went to check out what new phone I could get, but was a little underwhelmed at the choices. Given 3 screwed up their iPhone deal I thought they would at least try to get some decent alternatives in stock, but no N82 or anything else great. The guy in the store suggested I hold tight til mid next month when some new phones would be added to the 3 roster. If something good isn't coming out, I'll be switching provider. He said there would be at least one new N series, but wasn't sure what else. Anyone have any idea what will come out? |

Lying b*stard told me today that there would be no new phones til January because he thought I'd buy something on the spot. I said that was funny seeing yesterday his boss told me there would be new releases mid-September. He then said it was possible seeing that was the last release date of the year. Thought there might be some people on this forum with inside knowledge... if so, speak up – you're about to lose a bunch of customers. |

My phone just took a swim so I need a phone asap and I am in the same boat... I finally decided to get the LG Viewty (just buying it outright until the HTC Diamond comes out with Optus) and no one has them in stock!! I have read through this forum that telstra is the only one that has the HTC Diamond exclusively for 3 months. From what I have read they bought them out late July, which means other carriers can then stock and sell from late October, so might be a bit later than that before they get them?? |

New phones coming out on 3 I think there are a few other threads on this as well that may have some useful info. but was a little underwhelmed at the choices The Nokia E71 is definitely their best value phone at the moment. Check it out, certainly not underwhelming – http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_e71-review-266.php The guy in the store suggested I hold tight til mid next month when some new phones would be added to the 3 roster. Yep. Follow VOIP.ed (mr. wireless)'s posts – /forum-user.cfm?id=126265&days=30 – as he has his finger on the pulse. Blackberry Bold, HTC Diamond and Diamond Pro all due out on 3 in September. |

Hey Tex – thanks for your help, will check out that thread. I did check out the E71, but didn't pay much attention because of the QWERTY keyboard, maybe I should have another look. Mainly annoyed they have none of the new the N series as these seem to be just what I'm looking for (I want storage options and music primarily, email and wireless connectivity secondarily and to a lesser extent games, video, GPS) in a fairly slim (pref, candy bar) package. I'd get the N95 but it just seems too bulky and the build quality seems 'plastic-y'. The C902 features are good, but the screen is tiny. |

Blackberry Bold, HTC Diamond and Diamond (touch) Pro all due out on 3 in September. Yeah correct Optus have the 6210 and the N6600 Fold coming Nokia E71 is definitely their best value this is great and selling hot – good value at Hutch free on $49 cap or even better on a $69 Combo with a free Key Modem and 2Gb's — gotta be the best deal on the market. N95 8Gb goes up in price to free on $69 cap on 1st Sept |

I talked to a 3 salesman today, they said atm they are experiencing bad reception, and wont sign a contract with apple. Take the guys advice, stay pre-paid, dont rush unless if your will to sign up the N95 8gig (ends 31 august) $49 cap 24 months. Im pretty sure iPhone will be released by 3... |

Not really following mobile phone price rises at the moment – new phones come/coming out yet "older" phones (N95 8GB, N71, U990) go up in price?! |

new phones come/coming out yet "older" phones (N95 8GB, N71, U990) go up in price?! yeah I can't follow that either – cockups in the system or were they made cheap to combat iPhone 3G. Stock flying out the door and going to run out? Now realised iPhone its not as good as applenuts would have you believe. saw this on the BOLD SITE and repeat it here I just got off the telephone with the business services representative from three who e-mailed me yesterday regarding the Blackberry bold. Here is the drum: They have had the Blackberry bold since August and have been testing it extensively since that time, however, due to major issues with the firmware they have pushed back the release date four times. The latest estimated release date is early November (5th November? I heard him start to say) however, the guy I spoke to said he would not be surprised if it gets pushed back again until January. He said that they have had 4 firmware revisions to address major issues and that the last firmware release was the worst. He said unlike Optus, they will not use their customers as field testers, preferring to make sure that all the bugs are ironed out before releasing the handset. So bottom line of those hanging out for the Blackberry bold on the three network, earliest release will be early November, and quite probably much later. We also discussed other phones and he mentioned that they have some excellent phones from HTC coming out in the next couple of weeks, he particularly recommended the diamond. He also mentioned they are testing the Sony Xperia and said it was a particularly impressive phone, although he advised caution as it is Sony's first foray using the Windows Mobile platform. They are due to release the Sony in January, but might push that forward to December to capture the pre-Christmas market |

N96 which is really an N95 with a facelift. The N96 with 16gig, better GPS and wifi will kill the N95, even the 8gig model. And you can score it for under $1000 from some reputable dealers on eBay already. Stuff the plan options! |

then wouldnt you rather get on $49 cap? owing to more extras etc umm.. depends how much it is on the $49 cap. if it's $18 on the $49.. then no :P but given 3s history with windows based smartphones, they are never cheap! unless you have huge monthly calls, then not worth it. im a bit more data focused. i would love to see these windows phones on a free and locked in a $29 voice cap + $39 data cap (5gigs+)... and then i would happily sign up. |

but ain't the touch pro better than the touch and its already out!? i believe you meant touch pro and touch diamond as HTC Touch is an older phone. Diamond and pro are very similar phones with the main difference being the slide out keyboard and the added weight as the result of it. Really depends on your definition of 'better' |

Taking the thread off-topic here but...there are other differences apart from that – http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_pro-review-278p3.php Pro over Diamond * Full five-row QWERTY keyboard |

Based on what the N96 is costing, perhaps when the N85 eventually comes out, it'll be around $10 less per month. The N85 is more than $240 cheaper though so lets hope the repayments are pretty decent. |

3 is disappointing to me. I served a customer a week ago and 3 send her a new phone as a 'thank you for being with us for a year' gift. Me, I've been with them for 2 years and didn't see jack all thank you. So I cancel with them, had the guy offer me this and that and basically told him, not interested anymore. When 3 came out, video calls were the BIG thing with them but the service is NOT part of their cap whereas people like Voda and I believe, Optus, include that service as within their cap. |

No point in getting a new phone from "3" until until the 2nd quarter of 2009 when 3G is switched on with tesltra/3 and your "3" phone supports telstras 1800mhz band. Unless of course the phone now support 1800mhz as well as "3's" 2100mhtz. |

its not the dollor realy tho, the RRP of this phone is RRP: AU$1349.00 cant understand the reason why the N96 would retail for so much. Cant see the value in it. not to mention it is not a touch based phone. i would have thought touched based phones would be a more expensive product to make. If the diamond is meant to be going for $10 on the $69 cap when it comes out, the omnia should be bout the same. sounds very reasonable, even if its only the 8Gb model. |

So free on $129 plan or above? Sweet lord is all I can say if that is the case... I meant on monthly repayments. $22 per month on $29 Cap for instance, it's all speculation – really hope I'm wrong and it's a lot more reasonable than that. Does anyone remember how much the N73 was on repayments when it first came out on Three? |

why? i wouldnt ever want to pay roaming costs. so why should one care about next g support? one reason why i'm thinking of going with optus on this one. better coverage for the data side of things, and if i go into roaming, can still use data (albeit slower) with no excess costs. |
