How and where do you use the free uploads and downloads provided by iPrimus?? I noticed it on my Usage Stats page a coupe of weeks ago and i don't get it. It says I've used 2.5 megs of free dl and 435kb of free ul. If anyone knows where the free stuff is coming from please let me know.

We've just recently released our Unmetered traffic system which allows us to exclude certain sites from your monthly quota.

This is talked about in detail in this thread

We're still working to build a definitive list of services that will be a part of this free downloads area, but for now the sites you can access and download from for free are;

http://www.iprimus.com.au
http://support.iprimus.com.au
http://mirror.iprimus.com.au
http://forum.iprimus.com.au

And all of iPGN (the iPrimus Gaming Network)

http://www.ipgn.com.au

The new iPGN website is still under development and should be released soon, it will include more stuff you can access for free!

Cheers,

Rory

Could we get Adobe product trials on the unmetered ftp or is there some kind of copyright barrier?

PS I cant get onto the IPGN ftp, its 5th September, and it would be nice to be able to access it.

I could probably put free Adobe products on there but not ones you have to pay for..

What is this IPGN ftp?

Most of the old iPGN servers have been decommissioned and replaced (because they were old) mirror.iprimus.com.au and mirror.ipgn.com.au are both the same thing, and they have ftp and http access.

A search function within the ftp://mirror... side of things would be good because there are just too many folders to individually search through...

Within the http but not the ftp...

Doesn't the http only display the 60 most recent files?

+

Does "nothing we have to pay for" mean that the FREE trials available on the Adobe website are out of limits for the mirror?

It is where the search box is.
It will display the most recent files until you enter in a search, whereby it will return search results.

Now we just need you guys to setup a decent iprimus usenet server (quota free, of course) and I'll happily donate my quota to charity :)

Thanks. I wasn't clear over that little detail...

All of the Adobe trials are free (at least the ones I know about), all you have to do is make a free account with them. (Which takes about 30 seconds)

ftp.ipgn.com.au is just an alternate way of getting to ftp.iprimus.com.au.

It has been like this for a while now. (If you read some of the previous posts someone says that the ipgn ftp is the same as the iprimus ftp)
