Can anyone help please. I am not very technical and this problem is costing me a fortune as my Inbox backs up and I have spent days trying to fix this. I have emailed Dodo three times no reply. I have called Dodo twice but technician on both occasions spoke very poor English and practiced poor listening skills leaving my problem unresolved.

I switched over from TPG three monthes ago and immediately started experiencing email problems (I use outlook). I have three outgoing SMTP accounts such as gmail and now dodo. They all worked fine at first but then they just started timing out leaving message in Outbox. A few days later it came good. I have checked for virus's, tried without firewall, re-installed outlook, and tried different combinations of mail settings with no luck. The same problem started again a few days later. I have also found that I cannot log in/send mail with any of my Webmail accounts such as yahoo, Gmail, and my own domain.

Everything was fine before Dodo, I made the mistake of trying to save $10 a month and against everyone's warnings. I suppose I should report Dodo to someone about there service levels. Any help much appreciated.

Hmm, have you tried unchecking the port blocking settings in Advanced Setting?

The following is a screen capture of my settings:

It may be how you have set up your mail accounts, delete and reinstall all of them... ensuring you know what the setting are before you delete them of course.

Common Outlook problem, but not always

My fix when this happens.
1/ Open message in Outbox.
2/ Go to another Folder other than Outboox – say Inbox
3/ Press sent on the opened message.
4/ Keep out of Outbox when pressing Send/Receive button.

If that doesn't work, close down Outlook, count to 10 and reopen. Keep out of the Outbox.

Hope this helps.

TPG > Dodo – you don't value your business much I take it. Both have horrible customer service.

Rather than immediately claim it's your ISP's problem, make sure you have 3 POP/IMAP accounts for incoming (each with its own incoming mail server) and using the SAME dodo SMTP server for outgoing.

If you can't send emails, more than likely you've got a wrong SMTP server configured. If you are using dodo's SMTP server (and you've verified this with their support FAQs or people) already and it's still timing out when sending emails, then perhaps they do have a poorly administered mail server.

I had a similar problem with dodo – it took me 4 weeks of calling dodos helpdesk and going through the same checklist EVERY time I rang (on nearly a daily basis). Dodo would say that they logged a technical support call, and someone would apparently get in touch with me. Dodo tech support never called me back, and when I chased, I would have to go through the same 'fault finding' process again.
I eneded up having to purchase a second broadband router to prove to dodo that the problem wasnt at my end.
I got so frustrated, I asked to cancel my contract – dodo then put me through to their 'complaints hotline' this consisted of staying on hold for 20 minutes until my mobile ph battery went flat. when I eventually got through to their 3rd level support, the issue miraculously went away.
Dodo ended up costing me a lot more money than I ever would have saved, and I will never get the month of downtime back either.
This coming from an IT professional who's had over 15 years experience in the industry – Dont go near dodo if you arent technically adept, and even if you are – they'll walk all over you.
Also, if you have issues – log a complaint with the telecommunications ombudsman ( http://tio.com.au ), and hopefully we can get rid of cowboy outfits like Dodo.

1st of log into your mail account @ dodo and clean it out ,before attempting a remote client.Best results are often achived by recreating your account in outlook rather than trying to repair defective settings.Make sure to set your dodo account as default.
