Hey, Just wondering if anyone has any experience in upgrading from ADSL to ADSL2+. If so how long did it take for the change to occur? I know the website says 10-12 days but I'm looking for real life experiences. Thanks. |

Some related threads. The search feature does fantastic things when it's available :) /forum-replies.cfm?t=724871 |

If so how long did it take for the change to occur? In Melbourne, took about 5 days for me. No downtime was noticed or anything. Good luck! |

Also in Melbourne, took 20 days. No down time. And first bill is looking correct. |

I'm assuming by 'No down time' you are referring to after the fact. Since 5 days, and 20 days is the 'Downtime' to have the line codes changed and for the new service to be established. Just like some clarification. :) |

By no down time, I mean the change is carried out seamlessly. You don't lose internet connectivity. It took 20 days for the change to be implemented. |

Thanks Risbo, I did a quick search but found nothing that stated a simple and current "It took me x days to be upgraded". Thanks to everyone else for stating how long it took them, it looks like it varies widely. If anyone else would like to post how many days it took them please do. :) |

Just a quick update. 9 Working days after submitting upgrade. Got home yesterday (1pm) and was syncing at ADSL1 speeds but couldn't get online as the authentication wasn't working. 2-3 hours later I started syncing at ADSL2+ speeds but the sync (no auth light) would only hold for 10secs before it would drop. My modem would then re-sync/disconnect etc. 10 Working days (today 11am) Same problem as yesterday evening, Sync/disconnect. Online it still says my plan change hasn't been completed but I'm hoping by the time I get home tonight I'll have ADSL2+. On a side note I did ring Netspace twice yesterday and was most impressed that the first time I had a ZERO minute wait and the second time ~7mins. Nothing they could tell me or help me with except for the; hard reset, isolate, blah... |

Business day 11 since upgrade submit (Day 3 without internet) Still Syncing/Disconnecting every 10 secs without fail. Rang Netspace and they have logged a fault with my line. MyNetspace page still has me on my old ADSL1 plan so I am assuming that it may have something to do with this. Anyone know how this stuff works and can maybe shed some light? |

Yesterday I received an SMS from Netspace telling me I'm live and ready to go... Got home and my 10sec sync/disconnect is now not even getting a sync... Rang Netspace and they have logged another fault with the line, I don't know what happened to the first fault they logged... So now I'm back to waiting till Monday/Sunday for them to find a resolution. 12 Business days since submit. |

I had issues too. I had a billing issue where I was charged for my old ADSL phone line and my ADSL2 phone line on my Netspace home phone bill. So basically I had two monthly charges for my home phone line. I rang up the helpdesk and apparently it will "correct itself" automatically next month.... its very unclear though and not very good especially as I had to pay them more money up front this month without notification. |

When i just submitted my upgrade, i couldn't select the 'Immediate' option.. and only scheduled. Why is that? I'm going from adsl1 to adsl2+ with bundled phone option. |

Donfrank, I got to choose the "Immediate" option just over 2 weeks ago. So Monday morning arrived and still no internet. 13 Business days since submit. I really hope it isn't a problem at my end otherwise I'm going to look like a right fool... |

I experienced a similar issue to Detritus. Because I did not want to be without adsl, I waited to upgrade my Netspace 1500 plan to adsl2 until the offer of zero days to upgrade became available. I then put in my application (about 3 months ago now) and waited for the billing cycle to end. A day or two before the cycle end, I got an SMS to say that it was being done. That night, my modem showed that I could connect and it showed adsl2+ upload /download speeds. Unfortunately it could not sync with Netspace. I was stuck .. Netspace help desk could not help .. eventually (after all the isolation tests etc) they ended up arranging for a technican to attend at my residential premises (after the normal blurb about, if it is a fault at my end, it will cost me $100+). As soon as the technican saw my screen, he conceded that it was not a fault at my end. So it was back to Netspace who had to get whoever they use to get Telstra to examine at their end. Eventually they changed settings and I was able to connect. Initially I had an SNR of about 6. They have increased this to about 15 with a drop in upload / download speeds which doesn't really worry me (I am not a gamer). What does annoy me is that I still get frequent loss of sync. It normally only takes 30 seconds or so before it is re-connected. HOWEVER, VOIP is a disaster .. just get started and the line drops out. So much for progress. The upside is that I am getting a slightly faster speed but am saving $10 per month $49.95 15GB plan) and could be saving $20 had I not got fed up with the initial 2GB peak / 2GB offpeak limit (the last couple of days of the month were painful as it shaped back .. (not a gamer and not a big downloader either .. hence the speed issue is not really an issue)). |

15 Business days since submit. Still no sync, waiting on results of fault logged on Monday. Can anyone tell if they were able to get credits for the down-time they incurred? Cheers. |

I completed the upgrade my plan and had a choice of Immediate or scheduled. I chose scheduled. Next day I decided to change to Immediate. Guess what. Immediate wasn't available. |

Applied for ADSL 2+ Upgrade on Aug 30th Got upgraded today, although my netspace doesnt seem to think so for some reason, now syncing at Upstream 672100 with these line figures Downstream Upstream For some reason youtube doesnt seem to want to work in real time though, dont know why that is, everything seems to be rocketing along quite nicely, and should i be worried my modem cant tell me if its latency is fast or interleve? |

WOO!!!! I have a connection. Only ADSL1 but after 10-11 days without interent at home I really don't care. I'm on a "stability profile" which will be monitored for the next fews days then I have to ring them to be "upgraded" again. Fingers crossed. |

Upgraded to 8000kbps and things seem to be rocking along all good. Can't wait to try upgrading to ADSL2+ sometime later in the week. |

Was upgraded to ADSL2+ on Wednesday morning and everything is great. Syncing at about 13000/800kbps just over 500m from the Lutwyche exchange in QLD. I also had my billing date changed so I didn't have to pay for the 10days of downtime. All in all the downtime sucked but whenever I talked to Netspace they were willing to try and help me out. Getting my account credited with the 10 days was also VERY easy. Cheers |
