G'day,

Just wondering if anyone has the original wording to the "Yes Rewards" plan that gave you every 3rd or 4th month free, depending upon how many products you had with Optus...

I am currently getting every 4th month free... as I had phone/Net...

I've been told that adding a mobile plan now will not entitle me to getting every 3rd month...

Is that true to the original wording? Was there room to expand your products in the future and receive further discounts?

Has anyone else argued this point and won?

cheers

Original wording is not entirely relevant now – the plan and offer have both been mothballed. Not taken away from you, so if you have it, you have it, but they drew a line in the sand under it.

It's in the 'yes' Rewards T&C's.

6.3 (d) From 16 November 2005, we have ceased to offer the 3 and 4 months free Internet access to the Optus Cable Service and Optus DSL Service as part of a yes rewards offer, unless you are an existing customer who selected the 3 or 4 months free Internet access as part of your offer prior to 16 November 2005 (see Past Offers and Rewards – Attachment 2).

It's quite possible that their reps couldn't change it for you even if they wanted to.

Yes it's been mothballed.

Be happy with every 4th month free, you are doing better (both $$$ wise and data wise) on that plan than most.

Yeah, I know it's still a great deal... just hoping to use it to make adding an iPhone to my household "economical"...

Looks like that plan wont work... cheapo Samsung here (my fiancée) comes...

If you can get to a higher level of the call centre people, you might be able to get the extra free month. I did manage to get them to reinstate this for me (as well as the 10% discount for re-signing the contract).

I was on every third month free, but moved my mobile away, so it went to every fourth month free. But, then when I moved the mobile back to optus I did manage to get them to reinstate the extra month. It took a few phone calls and they had to refer it to someone higher up for approval but eventually they did allow it.

So its all good. I now get the 12/24 plan for about $38/month when you take all the discounts/free months into account. Much better than any current plan.

I have been on 3 free months/yr for some years, but never had a mobile with them until I got an iphone with them on July 11

I rang 1300 300 937 last thursday and requested to add my iphone to the bundle and upgrade to 4 free months/yr.
The helpful gentleman from the Indian call centre said it would be OK so long as I was not on a business plan, and the accounts were in the same name.
He then asked for a number to call me back on after he had checked that my mobile number would qualify.
He called back after about 10 minutes and said he had added my iphone to my bundle and upgraded me to 4 free months/yr.

It will take a few months to confirm whether it all works, but he gave me no inkling that there would be a problem.

(I am currently on Unlimited pro with the 10% re-contracting discount)

Hi,

Have been on the 12/24 every 4month free for years, very happy.

But.... I'm just about to move to another house where optus cable is available. Has anyone successfully transfered this grandfathered plan to a new location??

Cheers
