Has oneone else had the recent experience of dealing with the automoted voice support? It has to be one of the more frustrating things I've ever had to deal with. Previously you could get to a person quickly but the new QA system keep you going through pointless Q&A for so long I haven't managed to get to an person as yet.

Previoulsy tech support could initiate some tests from their end and isolate faults in quick time – or at least let you know there were known faults in your area etc.

The support (or lack of) is now so bad I'm looking for an alternative service. (Cable im my area, Nedlands, has been dropping in and out for two days now).

Just say "consultant" and it will direct you straight to an operator.

I did that and it said it was going to and then it started asking me the same questions over and over ... I"ll try 'consultant' next time and see if that actually does it

There's a simple process to follow.

Standard ADSL – ADSL, Technical Support, Standard, Consultant, Yes.
ADSL with WiFi -ADSL, Technical Support, WiFi, Consultant, Yes.
Standard Cable – Cable, Technical Support, Standard, Consultant, Yes.
Cable with WiFi – Cable, Technical Support, WiFi, Consultant, Yes.

If you just say consultant it will give you a speel about how it will be easier if you explain the department you need to speak to, stating the department and then 'consultant' can be easier and avoids extra questions.

The automated voice is a minor annoyance, but really as soon as you tell it what type of connection you have and whether it's wireless or not, then it'll put you through to a consultant.
