Who would like to join me in encouraging Netspace to make ABC iVIEW unmetered on Netspace. Surely if you have stuff for gamers, you can also give something back to the rest of us.

I hope that Netspace does offer the ABC iView service for free sometime soon. Iinet is obviously doing it, so ISP's like Netspace will certainly start to get pressure to offer similar offerings or risk loosing customers longer term.

I tried iView last night and it seems like a great product. Unlike the FTA networks, someone at the ABC obviously has a clue as to what viewers want these days. The ability to watch programmes whenever you want at reasonable quality (it's not great, but pretty good – certainly not HD) is great.

It will be interesting tho, how long episodes of programmes are kept online for viewing. Currently its seems to be for a week or two.

UPDATE:

According to Simon Hackett (Internode) it seems to be somewhat difficult for ISPs to do it at this stage -

If your on a free pipe plan switching DNS servers could make it be unmetered.

See my post here about it.

Netspace should continue to give good quotas and not worry too much about specific free content.

I prefer the high quotas to use on whatever I want. ABC, Streaming Radio, Torrents, iTunes downloads, whatever I want.

i agree, i prefer a no frills isp, however so long as netspace continues with the availability of plans which as they are no frills, i would not oppose netspace also offering full-of-frills plans to attract customers that are after that sort of thing. such plans are not for me and i believe i would be in a minority (maybe not?)
