can you sign up without taking up their phone plan? i know it says u will incur an additional $10/month if ur long distance isn't with them but it says nothing about not signing up with them for the phone line

i tried signing up on their website but the form makes u choose a phone plan =/

you can on the adsl 'extend' plans, but the plan value is not as good.
Their line rental is very reasonable and with all signups you get 3 months free, so its actually a really good deal. :)

Those plans are using the Chime ADSL2 infrastructure and they have nothing to do with "no line rental" Naked ADSL services, they are just expensive ADSL2 services.

All the good value ADSL2 plans are on the Optus infrastructure (it seems).

I could have stayed with Comcen (and still paying "Line rental" for my bundled phone service) on those plans, but tomorrow I move to an iiNet NDSL connection on the very same Chime infrastructure – because that is all that is currently available in my exchange (apart from Telstra, of course).

i'm not looking for naked adsl.. i'm wondering if you can sign up to their 150gb adsl2+ plan without having to bundle with landline.. but yeah as someone noted.. u have to go on their ext plans in order to do that?

Sorry – I just noticed that (now) only the ADSL1 and ADSL2-Extend plans have the no-bundle option, I thought that Comcen *used* to offer this on their ADSL2 plans, but obviously no longer.

Anyway, I can't see the point of not bundling, with bundling you pay less line rental, get only one monthly bill instead of two and you have essentially exactly the same phone service.

The only real operational difference is that you contact Comcen instead of Telstra (or whoever) if you have a fault.

I have a bundled service and hardly make any calls on it (I use VoIP), and Comcen doesn't have a minimum monthly call spend as some ISPs do with their bundled plans.
