Hi all,
Thanks for reading. I don't quite know how it works. i got billed only $20 for this (remaining) month due to the fact that they bill from the first of every month? So if so does it mean all their users' plans start from the 1st till the end of each month?
Also its a 12GB/48GB plan. so does that mean i get to use all that until the end of this month (where 1st of next month it starts again?)
Or is it 12gb/48GB divide by 3~ download quota?
Also got 20free sms. lasts till end of this month?
thanks for answering. didn't quite want to get blacklisted by the techs ^^
ps. one last thing. churned phone over too, do i need to cancel with telstra? (already cancelled their lame cable..)

Yes, that is correct. Your next bill will be the full plan amount.

There hasn't really been a real answer to this – from Exetel or other users. I would guess that you have 1/3 of your months download allowance however there hasn't been a case (or at least that I have seen) where someone has been charged excess in their first month if they stick within their plan limits.

Yup

No, Exetel will advise Telstra of the disconnection.

Cool thanks a lot for that Rohan N!!!
just tested my connection before and am downloading at 1MB. Not bad. But with TPG at my bros i can get 1.8MB. (we're both connected to the IALA exchange). Lets hope it goes up in offpeak period ^^ and everything goes well

You can send as many SMS as you like. The first 20 each month are free... after that they're 5c each.

What connection are you on, and how did you test your speed?

you can use ozspeedtest.com and then choose ur isp for download tests. download 3mb files etc and it shows you how fast you are. but i actually only get around 600kb from that.
If you want max speed i use megaupload and download multiple files at once with orbit then add up the total speed. which has never been below 800kb

^ Cheers, yeah I know well about that place. I was just making sure you knew a decent test, as some people only know poo ones ;)
3MB is too small for a decent test at ADSL speeds these days. Think about testing even a decent Holden these-days over ~5seconds in a straight-line :D
Even the 15MB test won't go longer than 30seconds, which is still such a short window to gauge how-good your connection is over time.
If-ever you want to test torrents, try a decent (& safe/legal) tracker like this: http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page=torrents&active=1&order=seeds&by=DESC

hehe i guess i'll give it a try but don't really need to.
seems i download at between 700-1.1mb during peak and offpeak which is acceptable since its such low fees. I mean we all went through the dialup stage which was only 5kb. then hit to adsl which was so fastttt. now adsl2+ really is a blessing.
Lets just hope theres no/less than 2 drop out per month and all good ^^
cheers.
Btw the exetel forum has a post asking about part fee's and usage. It is infact you get what you pay for. So if you paid half way in the month you only get half your quota. Also everybody is billed and restarted at beginning of everymonth (which i find not very smart in quota management wise)
