Hey

I have Optus ADSL2 (the old plans) and I'm moving into my partner's house who has Exetel ADSL1 with no ADSL2 available at exchange.

I was having a look at the 8192 / 384 kbps plans and they don't look 'that' expensive compared to other ISP's.

Don't know much about 8192 plans are they any good with Exetel?

I am currently on the 80gb 8mbit plan and it is great.

Downloads are always quite speedy (currently downloading a torrent at 611kb/s).

Even in the off peak hours my downloading/browsing is still fine (400-500kb/s max).

And how much are you paying for that?

I am with telstra and have noticed exetel's prices are a lot better than what i am paying.

I'm on this plan.

I get 3500kbps on average. I am so ridiculously far from the exchange that I don't think my speed would be much better with ADSL2 anyway, but it would probably save me $15 a month.

Exetel 8mbit is great (im in melbourne) and speeds are always fast. It is also a rock solid connection never drops out for me.
