Hi guys, Just wondering, I know "free" quota used to be from 3fl, but as 3fl is unmetered (and has been for a while), why does the "free" quota still exist in the bar graph?

Is there some other source of free downloads besides 3fl that i don't know about?

It originally included things like IX traffic (WAIX, SAIX, PIPE, etc) and state traffic (Westnet WA to Westnet WA) that were not counted on the older plans. I believe it remains so that people who were on these older plans can still have access to historical data usage without causing any issues.

Just to add some clarity to this, 3FL (as mentioned by Drift above) is unmetered traffic, and as such will not show up in the "Free" column. This is also the case for any data coming from the Westnet Neighbourhood.

Might I assume that all the iiNet Media Lounge stuff will be free for us as well?

We're still working out the details of where the Westnet Neighbourhood will be extended to, and how. For now, free traffic remains unchanged.

So I should stay away from the Media Lounge for now? (asking because I'm not sure if it's is free traffic)

I see that iinet are letting the new ABC iView through as free download traffic. It would be nice if Westnet also picked this up.

I'll be nice if the entire ABC TV web site is given free to Westnet members. Many good documentaries on that site.

iiNet's support appears to be very good these days. Anyway as far as the ABC's iView service is concerned, Westnet are likely to have the same problem as other ISPs.

Considering that iiNet now own Westnet I don't see Westnet running into the same problem. It's fairly easy for Westnet to set up something that catches all ABC requests and routes them through the iiNet fine grain system to make it free for Westnet users as well.

My thoughts exactly. The set-up already exists within the iiwestnet juggernaut to make iview free trafficx, it's just a matter of westnet making the infrastructure part of their free zone. Personally, I think westnet and iinet should share the freezone infrastructure they have. It'll be a long-term thing but it's, imho, the best way to go...
