Hey guys, I've only recently signed up for Comcen/Spin. My service is working great as per my other threads, but when I log into my account via the Spin site, I can't check my current Plan usage and such. This is what I have under Service Status.
ADSL2+ Order Received 16th June 2008 In-Progress 1st July 2008 Completed 14th July 2008
You have selected the 60GB Shaped plan.
You have selected a 12 month contract for this service. Phone Order Received 16th June 2008 In-Progress 1st July 2008 Completed 14th July 2008
You have selected a 12 month contract for this service.
Just wondering how you check your current usage, or how long it takes after signing up to be able to check your usage.

I'm not a spin/comcen customer (yet), but you can also download a usage checker plugin for firefox that works for spin/comcen (i think).

Yep, I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. Just whim one of the comcen reps and theyll fix it up for you. Alternatively ring accounts.

Well it looks like I've gone a fair amount over my usage limit (was finally able to check on the 21st)
However it looks like I've been placed on an Excess charge plan, rather than a shaped plan, which I find very confusing since under My Account it states I'm on a shaped plan.
Currently talking with the Accounts department via email.
I would just like to ask any of the Spin/Comcen customers on a NON-Shaped plan to see what it says under their My Account section.
Plan Name 60GB Shaped Service Speed 24000/1000kbps Peak Period Midday to 2am Off-Peak Period 2am to Midday
How does it make sense to have a Shaped plan that charges excess fees?

when I was on iinet... I'll find the graph if you want. http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/576/volbo9.png
On comcen I've never been able to get that close because of this speed issue, but most things still seem to go pretty fast from big hosts.
