Hi Jason and gang. I just have been advised by a friend whom I referred to aanet and he has told me that when he went to sign up, he had problems so basically phoned up sales and when mentioning that he had an Agent code (my agent code) then Sales basically told him that aaNet do not take Agent Codes over by using the phone method. Is this true or what is the story here. The other thing is, he tried numerous times to use the web signup and had no choice in the matter, or so it seem. This strange stuff here, but I would like some referral credit if possible cause courtesy due where it is due, if you get my drift. |

Is this true or what is the story here. The Agent code is designed to reward customers who refer others and have them sign up. We do this by providing a financial benefit to the referrer. We cannot do this if the person signs up over the telephone; the aim of such a scheme is to pay customers a sales commission in lieu of paying for staff – we cannot do both. So yes, Referral/Agent codes are only accepted for Internet orders. This is made clear on the Referral Program section of our website: To receive the discounts your friend needs to signup using the aaNet website, and enter your "Agent code" in the box shown on the order form. The "Agent Code" can only be entered in when signing up online, and can only be done during the time you order the service. (Also, on the web signup, the AGE selection always says you are too young). We are not permitted to sign up customers who are under the age of 18. Again, this is made clear on the signup form. You must be at least 18 years of age to open an aaNet account. If you are under 18, you must ask a parent or guardian to open the account for you in their name. It is also an option that must be agreed upon at the end of the order form. [x] I declare that I have read, understood and agree to abide by the aaNet Terms and Conditions and verify that I am at least 18 years of age. (Proof may be required. Fraudulent declarations of age are reported to the police.) Jason |

Yes I realise this Jason, however that Agent Code is me, hence why I am posting ;) We cannot do this if the person signs up over the telephone; the aim of such a scheme is to pay customers a sales commission in lieu of paying for staff – we cannot do both. Jason, if YOUR webform Signup is broken then how else can he sign up??? We are not permitted to sign up customers who are under the age of 18. Again, this is made clear on the signup form. He is over 18, infact he is over 30, but your Webform signup would not allow him to enter in any age (at the time of signup) A problem that was aaNets fault and not his, as he is a potential customer you know, the one who is signing up?? It is also an option that must be agreed upon at the end of the order form Jason, what is the point of having an Agent Code, if we refer people to AANET however they cannot signup???????? Sounds like you should Abolish all AANET CODE generators, and its a frigging LAME excuse you have just thrown me. Cheers,~! |

Sounds like you should Abolish all AANET CODE generators, and its a frigging LAME excuse you have just thrown me. Perhaps you are not explaining correctly – the problem is not with the policy, rather a technical issue you are having. You questioned me on the policy – and I provided an answer to that, and now you are attacking me, and my response because you were actually having a technical problem with the form. What is the technical problem (in detail) that you are having with the order form, as I have not seen/heard any reports of problems with it, and there are plenty of people submitting orders. Jason |

So yes, Referral/Agent codes are only accepted for Internet orders. Seems a bit silly if the new customer does not yet have internet access... |

I still do not see the referral appear in my list of referrals, whats going on there ? I doubt Jason would be able to definitively respond without the specifics of your account (which of course you shouldn't post here). Have you emailed accounts@aanet.com.au and queried the status of the referral? |

Have you emailed aacounts@aanet.com.au or even just "accounts" ;) Though, from looking at the web page, I think the correct address to use now is billing@ |

He's not the one needing a connection. He is the one getting 'paid' for assisting. |

Perhaps you are not explaining correctly – the problem is not with the policy, rather a technical issue you are having. Perhaps I am not, but then I take 8 Panadine Fort'e and half Valium a day, so perhaps I am not explaining myself properly, sorry. You questioned me on the policy – and I provided an answer to that, and now you are attacking me, and my response because you were actually having a technical problem with the form. Jason, I am sorry if it appears I am attacking you. It is really not my intention as you have helped me heaps in the past and many others both on and offline so I am sorry, and that is not meant to be an attack. My apologies for what may read as sarcasm. What is the technical problem (in detail) that you are having with the order form, as I have not seen/heard any reports of problems with it, and there are plenty of people submitting orders. I myself am not having a technical problem. He could not complete the web based signup because of part of the form (at that time a week or so ago) was not working. Therefore he had to use the phone. Under the circumstances when you have a form that doesnt work (previously), and a customer that signs up over the phone and tells the sales people that the form is not working and he has a referrer (because at the time there no other way he could have signed up) then surely Policy is out the window because there is no other option. Now cant you see, I do not have a technical problem. My friend who I got to sign up had a technical problem. I am with aaNet and have been for ages. So I am writing this because there is something wrong here, surely you can see what I am saying here? |

Now cant you see, I do not have a technical problem. My friend who I got to sign up had a technical problem. Could you not have signed up for him/her? Not saying that this answers your question but it would have been an answer to the difficulty. |

Could you not have signed up for him/her? Scorp, I showed them the aaNet website and how to signup, but at that particular time they were not ready to sign up, in which case later on then used some dialup account to sign up. Of course, if I could just leap back in time, then I think I would time jump back and get the lotto numbers and throw a few bets on the Pony's while I was there ;) |

He could not complete the web based signup because of part of the form (at that time a week or so ago) was not working. Therefore he had to use the phone. AFAIK if you order over the phone the aaNet staff member uses the website to sign up anyway. So if there was an issue with the form, signing up over the phone wouldnt make a difference... |

Im the guy zone is talking about. I tried 3 times on 3 consecutive days, but the age box would not accept, regardless of what I entered, 32, 56, 89... So I called aanet, and they told me to my sadness and dismay, especially after all the good things I had heard from zone, that he would not take the agent code. Anyway, please refund zone his dues, and Jason, if you look over your phone records, indeed this dispute took place. Looking forward to 6 happy months with aanet ! |
