Internode bundles it all together

Internode has introduced a number of changes over the last month, the latest being a new Ultra service that combines broadband, land line and VoIP service into one monthly price.
The ADSL2+ plans start at $69.95/month for 5GB of data (uploads not counted) but this price also includes analogue line rental and $10 of VoIP credit. The plans top out at a reasonably low 40GB for $99.95, with further options available for static IP and business support. Internode is using Optus infrastructure to offer both the broadband and phone components.
"Ultra offers them the best of both worlds", said Internode managing director Simon Hackett. "The traditional dialtone-based phone line remains a necessary evil for many people who require it for back-to-base home security monitoring and analogue devices such as fax machines. Ultra also lets you retain your current telephone number."
The plans are difficult to compare to competitors' offerings. For example, Optus does not include VoIP, but it does include free landline calls with its Fusion product. iiNet has a naked DSL service without a landline, but it includes free calls over VoIP.
Over the last few weeks, Internode has introduced some other changes. These include a reduction in the cost of many "SOHO" and Naked ADSL2+ plans by $10/month, including its first ADSL2+ plan under $40/month. The ISP also now offers free setup on 24-month contracts.
