Gotalk offers naked DSL

2008-Feb-14, 11:45 am

Gotalk has launched an affordable set of naked DSL plans with included VoIP starting at $49.95.

The "Great Escape" plans include a naked ADSL2+ service provided over the Optus ADSL2+ network, and a VoIP service with a phone number. The existing phone number of the line can be ported over to the VoIP service when it is activated. Quotas start at 3GB peak and 6GB offpeak for $49.95, and go up to 20GB peak and 40GB offpeak for $79.95.

Gotalk's main business is phone services, which has allowed it to offer some aggressive pricing on its "The Lot" package. It costs $95/month and includes free local, national and mobile calls, and even includes some international calls. It also adds a mobile plan with a $100 cap.

"gotalk's ability to bundle this great VoIP service with its Naked DSL make its Communications Package unbeatable and the only plan of its kind in Australia", said Gotalk CEO Steve Picton.

Unlike its larger rivals such as Optus and iiNet, Gotalk does not count uploads on its naked or packaged plans.
