Hi guys... I have a php script that connects to my winamp, and has controls for play, pause, next, last etc... so I connect to the web page and control it with my old mobile phone, so in a sense it's a remote control.

I was hosting it at the work server, but it's not been changed and there is no access to the outside world...

Anyway I am having a party and want to use it, so I need to be able to host the php file so I can use it... Can anyone help?

If you only need it for 12 hours, depending on your expertise, and how long it would take to setup, I'd recommend on demand infrastructure, such as Cloud Central or Rejila in Australia.

Rather than waiting for propagation, once Apache is installed, you could put the script in the default web directory, such as /var/www on some linux distros, and access it using the IP address using the browser.

EDIT:

Didn't see your update while I was replying.

Have you checked the default directory to see that it isn't just a blank index.html file in there? How did you install it, using XAMPP, WAMP or a similar package?

I downloaded it from apache...

It says the default directory is

C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdoc

And in that there is a file index.html, which when I run that said "It Worked!"

But when I go to http://localhost, all I get is a blank screen...

You need to collect more information. Troubleshooting computer problems is a lot easier when you have data. Otherwise it's just guessing.

As always with any problem with Apache... read the error log!
