I have a website hosted by exetel and I want to install wordpress. I have the usual web/www.url.com.au/public_html structure, which of those folders would be the best place to install wordpress?

You can install it anywhere you want it to be.

If the Wordpress site is what you want visitors to see as soon as they go to www.url.com.au, then stick it in the root directory (public_html).

If the Wordpress site is intended to be a subsection of your web empire — a blog, to pick a random example — then install it in a subfolder of the root directory.

You can move it around later if you change your mind.
