I felt good about the rest of the test but now I'm feeling pretty worried. there a pain. when you don't get feedback after you have been through the proccess and no reply about the job. |

Another point I've picked up now is to answer on the strongly agree/disagree side rather than moderately or in the middle. Sigh. Definitely not what I did. |

No, the way to do it is the way you actually feel. They are designed to gather information, not pass/fail. It gives a general guideline as to how outspoken etc you are. There isn't a wrong way to answer a personality/psych test unless they have questions about are you likely to steal from the workplace. |

There is no wrong or right answers with a personality test. Don't stress about it. |

To be perfectly honest, I am a bit of a quiet person, keep to myself. And as such answered questions in that manner. Perfect. There's no use trying to be someone you're not. |

why is it a test if there is no right or wrong answers? why bother doing it at all? The test is trying to determine aspects of your personality, strengths and weaknesses etc. There is no negative aspects, each personality trait has it's own set of strengths and weaknesses. Not everything is black and white. For example, I was once turned down for a job because after a personality and aptitude test they said I was too good at problem solving and wouldn't be able to show other people how the work was done at thier level. Would you consider this as me failing the test? Did I answer wrong? |

LOL I did a Onetest thing for a job at Armaguard and one of the questions was "If you knew you could steal and nobody could possibly find out would you do it?" Now, what kind of retard is going to answer yes lol. |

I'm also really shy etc. and haven't decided whether I should lie to sound moderate or admit I can be extremely quiet at times. I've only done one of those tests and not particularly looking forward to doing more. I guess there's not much you can do about that one now so don't worry – and for the future just try to be honest again I guess or maybe make yourself sound a little more outgoing lol |

My work is doing the psychometrics on all staff now, from call centre staff to Personal Assistants. I always find you need to keep an eye out where they try to trick you. Basically question A will be "Do you hate x?" and Question K will be "Do you love x?" or a slightly revised version thereof. If you're being honest, your answers to those two questions MUST be opposite. |

The problem is, sometimes I change my mind even in the one test, and re-consider things in my mind and view them differently so I give a slightly different answer. :-/ |

A good employer uses the results of personality tests to recruit a well-balanced team. Even within my small team, I've tried to recruit a good balance of introverts/extroverts and thinkers/doers, etc and I think the team is much stronger as a result. I'd be pretty disappointed if a potential candidate lied on a personality test in order to get the job, because it would throw out the team balance. |

now I'm feeling pretty worried. You shouldn't. (easy for me to say!!!) I know they say you can't fail these sorts of tests Absolutely. As far I am aware, such personality tests are done to get a better understanding of an employee (then again, I haven’t really seen many managers using this information to manage their employees yet. Also, I guess I am guilty of that as well). It is a useful tool. It allows people to understand the employees better and how they are likely to interact with other team members. But, really, it is an indicator and what it says about you isn’t going to ‘define’ who you are. When I first did my MBTI, it said I was a complete introvert. I’ve managed to answer every single thing on the introvert side. I was being honest with my answers, too. The thing is, when I spoke to people about it, everyone was genuinely surprised by the results. It just shows what my preferences are, but it does not determine who I am. Good luck with the result of the interviews, tho. :) |

Hi, can you please tell me, is there any way you can pick up on these things in an interview? Sometimes. The way a candidate answers questions will reveal things about them. If someone has an extreme personality, you can usually pick it out quite easily. But more subtle personality elements can be tricky to determine, particularly since most interview candidates will be a little bit nervous (which can obscure their true personality). Consequently, I try to keep interviews casual and relaxed so people can feel comfortable and be themselves. |

A good employer uses the results of personality tests to recruit a well-balanced team. +1 You may not always hire the 'best' individual, because you are looking for optimum output from a team. |

That's a trick question. Of course you would do it, so when you answer no to that question they know you are lying and not to be trusted!! ;) Unlikely. A big part of my job is computer security, and without going into specifics, I will simply state "there is no such thing as a perfect crime". The whole basis and assumptions of such a question are flawed. |

There is no wrong or right answers with a personality test. Don't stress about it. I'll bet if you take the extreme position on every answer and are not consistent they will deem you to be "wrong". |
