Apply for both and you'll find out your answers. Then see if you get offered either. You aren't really in a position to be picky if you haven't even applied yet! |

The reality is that a lot of people find it difficult to get a job, even at places like McDonalds. The idea is to apply wherever you wouldn't mind working, since a lot of these places will knock you back. |

Count Mcdonalds out since you cant even spell it right.... even the migrants from asia who dont speak english / go to school are ahead of ya so much for been born here as an advantage. When i worked there i had to do a test and put a depoist down for the uniform you need to spell the company name right to pass the test. so as others have said your in no spot to choose |

They're not being rude, they're being realistic. Just because they're hiring doesn't necessarily mean they'll hire you, regardless of your contacts. Only after you've been offered a job at both places do you have a choice. |

I actually laughed when I read this thread, I see the title 'Oh the guy must have two job offers this will be interesting' and come here expecting to see the usual comparison of 'This one pays more, but this one is closer' to see that you dont have a job offer and its for fast food. Apply to both, if you get offered both, only then do you have a choice. That said, I would probably go with Maccas. |

anyone who says i cant even get a takeaway job needs to get there head out of there rear end. the human mind is a very powerfull thing, anyone can do anything even if you dont go to uni or tafe or whatever. No one said that, it's just it's a pretty competitive job market right now and in general the best policy if to apply for anything you find and keep your options open. This is why people have commented about not being picky, and not counting your eggs before they've hatched. It's not because you aren't capable, but simply that in most cases there is 20 other capable guys all going for the same job. my wife says i make good sandwitches too, Also, congratulations on getting married since yesterday. |

omg all he ask for is the pay rate if anyone does work for one of the company. DUH get to the answers Nope, there was more to the question than that, some of which has been somewhat answered. a friend told me she saw that the local MacDonalds and eagle boys is hiring. has anyone ever worked at these type of resturaunts. which one pays the best? how much? any advice, on which too chose would be cool. Seems more of a "which one should I go for" rather than "which one pays best", there's a bit more depth to the question than just pay rate. _______________________ umm??. what do you mean by this?. i have been married for almost 3 years. has anyone ever worked at these type of resturaunts. Yes, Eagle Boys. which one pays the best? how much? I'm not sure about McDonalds, but it depends on your age and what position you're doing. ie. Managers get a few dollars more than the casual. At 17 I'm getting $13.27/mo. any advice, on which too chose would be cool. Training at Eagle Boys is terrible, well at this particular store anyway. I've heard McDonalds is excellent. any advice, on which too chose would be cool. If you want retail experience then look for McDonalds. I've found with franchises that once you start getting to a certain age, they start lowering your hours – Which is understandable considering your base wage is higher then a younger Junior. I originally started working at Eagle Boys to earn some cash on the side, earning experience and have a creditable source on my résumé. Now I've left school, have two jobs and TAFE – it's hard to get out of it without feeling bad for the owners. They don't have anyone else to fill my space in, they're lucky they could find people for the other days I used to work. OP, good luck :). |

Isn't the prerequisite for working at Subway to be really bogan looking or ditsy with unsightly piercings? That always seems to be the way when I ever go to a Subway. For me it's mainly international students from South Asia (though to be fair, most of the retail outlets in the area, including my Coles, are staffed by them), but at least they're hardworking, polite, and don't scare me like the bogans do. |

I'm not too sure what store owner's are like, but you really need to get your spelling and grammar in check buddy. Is this just because you type fast? Maybe not much typing experience? Not saying that you're bad at English, hell for all I know you could have great spelling and grammar when handwriting. But from here, there are so many mistakes it can't just be looked at as "oh he made a simple mistake". When you write like you have been, it does not leave a good impression. And neither would it make a good impression in the employment world. |

nah, i can get a few hundred a week for doing sh1t all. so i will do that. cheers everyone Oh I love the current schemes :P A friend of mine has never worked full time, he's ~20 and gets benefits. All he has to do is say he's looking for work and does TAFE courses to 'improve his skills'. He does part time jobs every now and again to get Tursa off his back. He doesn't even pay for his TAFE courses, Tursa does it for him. Also anything he needs for TAFE he gives Tursa the receipt and they pay it for him. Oh well, I've only got 2 jobs and do TAFE a course ... with no benefits. |

The title of this thread is very misleading. This is more a case of 'Which job should I apply for?' OP, considering your poor grammar and spelling, I don't think you're in a position to choose. My advice is to apply for several jobs and once you've received more than one offer, you'll be able to select the job you want. |

Me too, chosy is a word I have never, EVER, heard before, and i've had asian friends mix japanese with english. Although his English isn't TOO bad considering the very subpar standard set by the intawebz. But on-topic, unless you plan on climbing the corporate ladder (managing a store minimum), don't go to fast food unless it's a temporary fix. |
