Welcome to the wonderful world of DRM. Where if a company doesn't want you to play your legally bought and owned music on a particular device you won't be able to. Great isn't it?

Thats why Piracy will continue on.

Forget about the cheap ass bastards – When legitimate customers get screwed like that, thats when you think- i could have downloaded it for free and put it on anything i want.

I am having huge issues with HDCP at the moment. I think thats a similar thingy.

Just stream your music from your PC, shouldn't be any DRM issues there.

well when you love music as much as i do, you want alot of all different types oy music and alot of music x $1.69 equals a quazillion dollars imo.

If you cant afford $1.69 per track you should miss out IMO, as that is nothing for somethign you will probably listen too many many times.

I never bought anything from iTunes until they took out the DRM anyway, but I have had no issues at all with the xbox playing any of the tunes I have, only ones it wont do is the ones my GF stupidly bought through telstra's music service that are DRM'd to hell and back.

I've never been able to play any songs purchased from itunes drm free or not. Playing songs ripped to itunes from a cd are fine though.

i understand your point, but its theft none the less. If you cant afford to buy all that music then its tough luck. Its like buying games from a store, you dont steal some because you cant afford all the ones you want. The only time i download music through other means, is when i cant find it through itunes or Amazon.

From my experience the 360 will play any music off the ipod that wasn't purchased from the itunes store. But it should play them now considering all new tracks are DRM free. I would try sending an email to Microsoft, to see if they have any help

it might need an update or something to the 360. I would try but the 360 doesn't play off the touch.

forgot to mention when I posted earlier, I always convert my music to MP3 from the apple AAC format and that may be the cause of the issues and why I haven't seen a problem. There is also an option iPod update from memory too, as well as the optional update for divx support.

Keeping them all in one format makes sure I can play them anywhere.

Sorry I cant be of more help has been over a year since I got it all up and running and had forgotten bits and pieces.

Welcome to the wonderful world of DRM.

iTunes song purchases (iTunes Plus) doesn't have DRM any more they will play on any of your home computers without restriction however the purchasee details are still recorded in the purchased song so if it gets pirated they know where it came from. Only iTunes videos still have DRM.

You can convert your iTunes songs purchsed before DRM was removed to the new DRM free format through iTunes.

This is from the iTunes help.

'All songs offered by the iTunes Store now come without DRM protection. These DRM-free songs, called iTunes Plus, have no usage restrictions and feature high-quality 256 kbps AAC encoding.
If you already have iTunes Store purchases that are now available as iTunes Plus downloads, you may upgrade your existing purchases. To do so, visit the iTunes Store and follow the onscreen instructions.'
