Here are the instructions for Part 6.

Upload a theme or some memorable music from a movie or TV show and let others try and remember what movie / TV show it came from. Remember to use a host site like Putfile or Plunder so it cannot really be downloaded, as we don't want to promote free music downloads. Also remember to remove all filename information so the file is unknown.

1. Upon making a correct guess please be prompt with your next upload. If the thread is busy we want to keep it that way. Don't slouch on the themes.

2. Try to upload themes that are DISTINCT – UNIQUE – MEMORABLE. That is to say , try to pick a theme that STANDS OUT.

3. When you post a theme please please please check the thread regularly.

4. If you post a theme and no one gets it, wait a few hours and then you can begin to post clues until someone guesses correctly.

5. Remember to check the list of posted themes before having your go, otherwise chances are your turn will be guessed straight away due to it having been posted previously.

Happy guessing.

Was that just a wild guess? If so ... incorrect.

Think Ron Grainer. Now another theme for which Ron is famous relates to travelling – in time and space. This theme also relates to travelling but not in the TARDIS.

Yes it was a guess. The theme sounds Brit 60-ish....jazz-like, uptempo and even a bit naughty. So I guessed Alfie.

I wanted to upload a superior copy of this theme because I felt it deserved it. But I could not find my disc (not unusual).

So here is a crappy version of a beaut theme.

The film is a fantasy thriller from a director who seems unable to recapture the substance of his earlier works.

I really was on my way to bed but I came back – j..u..s..t to check if anyone had got it. I figured it was pretty well known. And it was.

No. My error for not checking the previously used list properly. I pass the ball, respectfully, back to you InHell.

Anyway the theme I really wanted to use is a very early favourite but gives the game away from the outset. That is, "Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen ..." (Can you hear it?). I still sing it now to my daughter when she watches the new Robin Hood on TV – just to make her grimace.

I have a tune that may put you out of your misery or not. :D Not a movie, but a TV Series, (and this one ran for multiple seasons). You guys seem to guess the movie tunes really easily, most of the recent tunes listed I had no idea, so didn't proffer guesses.

Putfile is (un)helpfully giving the answer away at the moment by displaying the file's tag info – sometimes even if you remove it, Putfile puts it back in again (presumably if the file is recognised from a previous upload). You can get around it by editing the file somehow (eg trimming a bit off) and re-uploading.

Edit: theme removed.

It might be a good idea to check whether Plunder contravenes Whirlpool's rules. I checked out some of the rules and couldn't see anything that applied to our situation. While we do not intend to share the media via download....I suspect it would be an issue.

I had previously used LA.GG which would generate a play link but now, it too offers a download.

I think we need to check out other alternatives.

OK. I'm home. The main theme sounds like a theme for a Western. The cascading woodwind throws it off a bit. There's a touch of the Zorro's about it – but it's not Zorro – (no stereotypical mexican musical phrases) I swear the theme had/has lyrics and that the name of the program is in the phrase at roughly 11-16 seconds. Familiar. ON the tip of my tongue.

Okay here's a giveaway clue since I've taken the limelight for far too long :)

Clue:

The Wachowski brothers really admire the anime-movie in which this OST comes from, and stated that it influenced the making of The Matrix.

Must just be you.

Or I could have muffed it up :P Thought I had fixed it. Whoops.

Here's one that should be a quicky since some people haven't had a fair crack at guessing that last one

The movie was Return to Oz for those that couldn't find the details.

Yep, definitely overdue for a clue, sorry about that. This series is an animated one based on a live-action character from a couple of sketch shows, one Canadian and one American. The guy who played him went on to star in quite a few comedy movies in the 80's and 90's.

Yeah i was thinking that too, but I know it's neither of the House themes (American or Australian).

Pretty sure it's not ER, so i'll have a stab at a series i have never ever seen (is that allowed?), Grey's Anatomy, though it doesn't sound dramatic enough for that type of show.

there was a period piece set in Japan's Edo period...
where a young lady named Fuu went on a journey with two young men – Mujen and Jin who happen to be in a brawl that burned down the eating place where Fuu works... and wherein a magistrate's son died in the event... which the two men were charged with murder...

Fuu helps them escape and let them join her as long as they do not fight each other until her search for "the samurai who smells of sunflowers" is over...

IF that's obscure... just ignore it... :)

sorry... BUT i will tell you this ---

the composer had a Norwegian origin...
schooled in New York...
made his mark in film/TV soundtrack from the 60s up to the 80s with CBS Records Australia...
SO he is considered an Australian muso...

and then this particular piece was used as the Main Title music in this near-mid2000s adventure-comedy-drama flick...
ONLY because one of the actors was an Aussie too...

quite charming... relaxing and a bit corny theme...
